Thank you for the most perfect evening! The food was amazing and the service impecable. I really was impressed at how well we were treated - the atmosphere was smart but comfortable and the waiters gave us just enough attention without crowding and interupting us too much. I left with a belly full of delicious and lovingly prepared and presented food and a determination to visit again!

Thanks so much also for having picked up on my mum's throw away comment when booking - it was lovely that you'd registered the fact that we were celebrating my 30th birthday and made an effort to make the evening even more special for us!

This is my first visit to the French Table, but it will not be my last. The food was outstanding I could not find fault with any of the 3 courses.
One of the best resturants I have been to for a long time and very reasonably priced for the quality of food. I have eaten in michelin star resturants and this is up there with them.

We had yet another marvellous meal on Saturday (21st) evening finishing off with a very good glass of dessert wine. Unfortunately I can’t remember the name of the wine but the menu suggested the wine for cheese or chocolate. I would be very grateful if you could tell me what the wine was.

Hi there,
Saturday night was my third meal at TfT and the food was yet again outstanding. The detailed care of creation, delightful combinations and presentation simply out of this world. Truly superb!
But ... this time we had a super pushy waiter that rushed us throughout the meal. Within 10 minutes of sitting down we were asked twice for our order. We also had less than 5 minutes to look at the dessert menu and was again pushed into making a hasty order. Once we finished our meal and lingered with good friends, he constantly filled our water glasses every 5-10 minutes. This constant pushing and interuption was initially quite funny but at the end became totally irritating. We had the constant feeling of the need to turn the table. What I have previously enjoyed at TfT is the relaxed non-pushy approach - I'll be back soon but thought you would like to know....

Everything was really well organised.
The choice of menu was ideal for a dinner party at home.
Some great new ingredients, Barley Couscous, and some new techniques, but nothing too hard, so we could all have a go and then repeat at home.

The atmosphere was informal, relaxed and very friendly but the tuition correctly remained the main focus.

I had a great morning and would love to come again.

My husband and I visited TFT on 5th June. It was his 40th birthday so I thought we'd try somewhere really nice. We were not disappointed. I made the booking on the phone and received email confirmation the same day. I mentioned in passing that it was my husband's birthday. I received a phone call the day before to confirm my reservation - which was good. When we arrived, the table was prepared with delicate table decoration which I thought was great considering I'd only mentioned in passing that it was my husband;s birthday. After an absolutely fantastic meal and attentive service, a decorative Happy Birthday treat came with candle. I was delighted with the whole dealing with TFT and would definitely recommend it. Fantastic !

I went to the French Table the night I proposed to my girlfriend (now fiancée!) and it was an experience we'll never forget. The staff did everything to make it a truly memorable night (which is nothing new as they're consistently exceptional). Thank you so much for a lovely evening (as ever!) on Tues 9 Dec. 6 people in the party: 4 old hands - but 2 newcomers, who couldn't stop saying, "What a WONDERFUL restaurant!" (They're right, of course!).

The meals were delicious; the drinks were terrific; the presentation was delightful; the reception was charming; the service was immaculate.

Just one suggestion. Not for the first time, we found it difficult to conduct conversation - particularly across the "6-person round-table". Maybe a curtain at the window, and/or a couple of drapes on the walls, (even carpets?!), would absorb some of the sound, and make the experience a little less noisy & hectic.

Really, that's only a comment/suggestion. I can't find a word of criticism for such a gem of a restaurant.

My wife and I had lunch at the restaurant last Sunday and I am writing to say how much we enjoyed the whole experience and, in particular, to thank you for the trouble you took to ensure that there was a wider choice of vegetarian dishes on the menu for me. In addition, both of us were touched by the surprise you presented us with at the end of the meal to mark our wedding anniversary. I am sure that you have many diners visiting you who are celebrating some kind of event or other and it was most kind and thoughtful of you to take the time and effort to mark ours.

After an initial visit early in 2002 I was bowled over by the cuisine and service. The French Table has become a regular (some say too regular!) haunt for lunch and dinner. Never ceases to be sublime and there are no other restaurants in the area to match it. C'est magnifique! Keep up the good work.

As frequent diners at the french table, who have eaten at some of the finest restaurants around the world, we think we are lucky to have a restaurant of such high quality on our own doorstep. The food is sublime especially the trio of pork belly,a personal favourite of mine. The service is warm and attentive, i embarrassingly dropped my wine once, smashing glass over my partners food, the staff with no fuss what so ever cleared the whole table, reset it and bought out two fresh plates of food and even gave us a free glass of wine each to compensate for one i had smashed. Now that that is a sign of a restaurant that makes every customer feel special

One of the best restaurants we have dined at in the World. Great value for money when considering the quality, especially on a Sunday when they offer a 3 course set menu for £17!

The service is personal and excellent, the food superb and a carefully chosen wine list. The deserts are amazing for those of you who have a sweet tooth.
