Merci Beaucoup

A ginormous ‘Merci Beaucoup’ to everyone who voted for us in the Time & Leisure Food and Culture Awards 2023.  Winners were announced earlier this month and we were delighted to take home not one but TWO awards!

Coffee/Tea House of the Year’ for The French Tarte and
Fine Dining Restaurant of the Year’ for The French Table.

Your support is so appreciated, thank you.

Thanks also to our hard-working team - and to the lovely folk at Time and Leisure for organising these awards for the past 11 years.  They are a brilliant way to showcase all the brilliant independents in and around South-West London and Surrey.

The full list of finalists can be found here and we highly recommended having a read should you fancy supporting more of our fellow independents!

The French Table

“Fabulous lunch today. Sea trout main course was full of gorgeous flavours and the lemon tarte with blueberry sorbet, etc. was ‘to die for’. Everything so beautifully presented. Setting and service excellent, as usual. Just wonderful to have a genuine family-run restaurant”

Spring has certainly arrived in the restaurant with some beautiful season ingredients appearing on our menus – including Richard’s chicken main, inspired by the classic Caesar Salad… To read more delightful dishes and to see the wonderful new additions to our wine list, please visit our website.

A reminder that our restaurant will be open as usual across all the bank holiday weekends in May including the King’s Coronation.  We will be closed on Sunday and Monday but open on Friday and Saturday, lunch and dinner to celebrate the start of each long weekend!

Online reservations are now open until October for those looking to book ahead.  If you cannot find a table, please let us know and we will be very happy to help.

Nominations Now Open!

Two of the big restaurant guides are seeking your input to compile their 2023/24 guides.  We would be over the moon if you would consider a nomination for The French Table.

Please note voting closes May 10th

First it’s the Harden’s Guide.

Harden’s 2024 UK Restaurant Survey is now LIVE! The ratings and reviews for Harden’s are based on their Annual National Diners Poll and you are invited to take part.  The review is short and easy to use and is a lovely way to report back on all the meals you’ve enjoyed in the last 12 months.  You just name the restaurant and add your score with an option to elaborate if you wish to give a more detailed review.

And second, is The Good Food Guide looking for nominations for Best Local Restaurant. Your recommendation must meet a list of criteria that includes being independently owned by a ‘hands-on’ proprietor, offer regular changing menus, and gives customers a genuine warm welcome.

Tarte in the Park, Victoria Recreation Ground

Introducing Charlie who has come on board and can mostly be found at the Tarte in the Park. We can guarantee you a warm, friendly welcome from our Charlie - and we know he is looking forward to meeting you all.

Until the weather warms up, our little café will be open Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 9-4pm. Hopefully from mid-June, we will be able to extend our opening hours to include Wednesday and Thursday.
