“Thank you so much to everyone who generously donated to my Marsden March last month.  You helped me raise an incredible £1795 for a really good cause.  The day itself was wonderful, filled with tears and laughter – although the last mile did feel like the longest mile ever!  It was an honour and a privilege to be able to walk in memory of my niece Olivia.”

Gift Vouchers for Father's Day

A timely reminder that Father’s Day is this Sunday 15th June.  If you’d been thinking to arrange a gift voucher with us, there is still time!  Please call or email us at the restaurant before Friday this week – or for a small admin fee, e-vouchers can be arranged online via our website. 

Our café-patisserie The French Tarte will be open on Father’s Day so you could pick up sweet treats in the morning to satisfy Dad’s sweet tooth or you could go all-out and pre-book an Afternoon Tea for collection to enjoy at home. 


New French Beers

We recently welcomed a new line of French beers by Cap D’Ona which have already proved super popular.  

Working organically, Cap D’Ona have been awarded a Best Beer award at the ‘World Beer Awards’ for consecutive years since 2021.

The Beers:

Triple Blond - Ultra-floral, round, velvety and very delicate.

IPA Blond - Bitter & aromatic, vegetal and fruity with a delicious bitterness on the finish. 

Banyuls Blond - Gluten free Blond Beer with a finely fruity touch, extremely elegant and ultra easy to drink. 

Blonde Lemon Ale – Gluten free, Light, delicate, tasty and tangy with a touch of lemon.


June Menu

Chef Richard has added some beautiful new dishes to his menu this month including a starter of Porthilly oysters with tomato and locally-foraged elderflower compôte, and a main course of roast Cumbrian lamb with pea and mint ravioli – already proving to be very popular with guests!

 We also have a new Classics Menu, our £39 set menu - available every Lunch as well as Tues/Wed/Thurs Dinner.   Our Classics Menu is Chef Richard’s take on popular TFT dishes from the past 2+ decades.  Some dishes get a little modern twist, and some remain exactly as they were!


Cheese and Wine Evening - Wednesday 16th July 2025, 7pm, £65 per person.

We are gearing up for a wheelie exciting Cheese and Wine Evening next month as we welcome back special guest Fiona, both a bike enthusiast and editor on the soon-to-be-released 3rd Netflix series of ‘Tour De France: Unchained’.

Fiona is an excellent spokesperson with great stories and her predictions for 2025, to accompany the 5 cheese and wine pairings specially chosen for their connection to a stage of the Tour.   (You’ll be pleased to know that’s the end of my tiresome cycling puns - Zoe) 

Please note the following details:

All events take place upstairs. There is no lift.  Access is 2 flights of stairs.

Tables are large and shared with others (up to 6 people per table)

First come, first reserved.  A waiting list will be opened.

Spaces must be paid for in full in advance. Either over the phone or in person. 

Dietary requirements must be mentioned when booking.

Choose to either enjoy a cocktail on us or 15% off your bill.  From now until we close for summer, we thought you might want to take advantage of the lighter evenings so to all guests that book at 9pm or later, we’ll be offering either a complimentary cocktail or 15% off the bill.  Please mention fifteen percent or cocktail when booking.

Annual Holiday

A note that The French Table will be closed from August 17th to September 2nd.

The French Tarte will be closed from August 18th to September 2nd.

TFT will reopen on Wednesday 3rd September with the Tarte open from 8am and the Table from 6.30pm.
