The French Table will close from August 17th to September 2nd. The restaurant will reopen on Wednesday 3rd September from dinner onwards.
The French Tarte will still be open on Sunday 17th August and will then close from August 18th to September 2nd and reopen as usual on Wednesday 3rd September.
How to Book While We're Away
Up to 8 guests can book online through our website. If you are wanting to book for a larger group than that, please email in with your request using the subject line ‘Chestnut Shell’ and we’ll help with your reservation once we return in September.
Please note that emails will not be monitored whilst we are closed.
Reservations for December
Reservations for December will open on Thursday 11th September 2025. Please try not to contact us before then as we might miss your email. From 11th September onwards, we will aim to be in touch within a reasonable time frame.
We expect the phone line to be busy so would highly recommend you email us your request. Please use the subject line: 'December'. We will aim to reply to your promptly to confirm but please allow up to 48 hours.
This December, The French Table will open from Monday to Saturday for lunch and dinner up until and including Tuesday 23rd December.
On Christmas Eve, the restaurant will open only for lunch with 2 sittings and a special menu.
Festive Menus (from Friday 28th November)
Lunch Menu
£48 for 3 courses
£58 for 5 course tasting (+£40 wine pairing)
Dinner Menu
£68 for 3 courses
£78 for 5 course tasting (+£47 wine pairing)
Please note there is no classics menu option for lunch or dinner in December.
Christmas Eve
The French Table will open for lunch only on Christmas Eve with an extra special 3 course lunch menu, £65 per person.
No other menus will be available on Christmas Eve. We expect demand to be high for tables so there will be a 2-hour time limit on tables of 1-4 people.
First sittings will be available at 12/12.15/12.30pm and second sittings will be available at 2.15/2.30/2.45pm.
Reservations for Christmas Eve cannot be made online.
A deposit of £65 per person will be required by Friday 31st October. This can be paid over the phone or in person.
